The Newman Group Adds Outsourced Email Alternative Dexter, MI – October 1, 2007 – The Newman Group (www.nofailemail.net), specializing in delivering mission critical email delivery, security and management solutions has announced a new partnership agreement with Merit Network, Inc. (www.merit.edu) of Ann Arbor, Michigan to offer MeritMail, Merit’s email service. MeritMail is a fully outsourced email delivery and security solution that provides a cost efficient email alternative. Merit manages the hardware and software, upgrades, testing, maintenance and system scaling which saves users on capital and operating costs. The solution includes spam and virus protection as well as advanced end user features such as group calendars and webmail. “According to Gartner Group, up to 80% of organizations could save money by outsourcing email. We know from our users that outsourcing requires email to be safe and secure, but also be the property of our users. MeritMail is safe because it screens out the viruses, spam and other malware before it ever enters a network, and unlike other “free” email services, mail ownership is not an issue. We guarantee the privacy and security of our users’ mail and the mail is there if they need it for regulatory or law enforcement compliance,” said Robert Golden, Chief Research Officer for Merit. “The Newman Group has added MeritMail as a solution partner to meet the needs of customers that are considering an outsourced email solution. The cost savings and operational benefits associated with outsourcing are numerous, and we wanted to team with a solution partner that addresses the specific requirements that many of the so called “free” alternatives do not address, such as archiving, and regulatory/legal compliance”, said Anthony Comazzi, vice president, messaging solutions division for The Newman Group. “One of our long-time in-house email customers recently evaluated the “free” alternatives and selected MeritMail because of those very important factors”, added Comazzi.
